Steve Russell and Deb Kloster will be doing the interview on KWWL. We don't have a confirmed date or time. Roger Beane wins Best of ShowA Santa carved by Roger Beane won the big prize at the Tri-State Woodcarvers Show in Keokuk. Second place went to our friend Alice Porter. Other friends who won 1st place in various categories were: Max Porter, Tim Run- dall, Bob Ristow, Sue Mertz, Frank Mertz, and Mike Augustine. Congratulations to all! Locking down colors - Don LundWhile painting using multiple layers of paint, you can use Krylon Matte or other urethane based spray paint to lock down a color base coat. Then by adding a different color on top of this base coat, you can then use a cloth or Q-tips soaked in Windex window cleaner to remove this top layer of paint to lighten up and/or highlight your work. Using this process, instead of trying to finely control where you add paint, you can just add paint to the whole project and then just remove the paint from the areas where you do not want it. |
