Super Event by M. L. Snyder

I am truly proud to be a member of this club. The participation of our members at the Big Show & Tell at our September club meeting and the carving diversity displayed was amazing! It was a great 'kick off' for the year's activities. I will risk omitting someone to tell you about it. Joe Kies exhibited several of the unusual bowls he chain saws from wood he finds at the dump. Jerry Cufr displayed a Mountain Man that he carved at Harmony, a country bear and a cross. He also had a bark carving. Don Petersen displayed his first relief carving. Gene Holmes showed several of his spoons. Dick Hanson had two sets of the nativity pieces to be carved at the coming seminar and several examples of the Continual Cross. Mary Lou Snyder brought several songbirds carved at Waldorf or in Cato's class, a deer fawn carved at Congress and Santas. Jerry Schierholz showed us a deep relief carving of a horse head carved with Kirt Curtis and some Hibiscus. Stan Weaver, our 'big boy scout' had a cane he made for this year's Boy Scout Jamboree and several examples of neckerchief sliders a man sells at the event. Ed Cook had a big intarsia piece titled 'The Double Eagle'. Jack Sullivan displayed a relief carving and a green jay.

If you missed this meeting you missed a Super Event.

A Big Thank you to all who participated.
